When celebrity chef Brooke Baevsky AKA Chef Bae announced an event in Toronto, there was only one acceptable response: yes, chef! Eden Grinshpan joined Chef Bae at Leah Posluns Theatre for a cooking demonstration and conversation about her career.
Brooke is a nutrition expert, recipe developer and content creator with an impressive client roster. She started out by helping athletes and now her clients include Paris Hilton, Mindy Kaling, Emma Roberts and the Kardashians. Fame doesn’t faze her because she sees stars in their most casual, sometimes stained clothes when they’re at home.
Brooke’s making Emma Roberts’ wedding cake soon! Emma’s a big fan of her brookie desserts. She joked they’re “one-piece brookies” because you couldn’t wear a bikini after eating one, though Chef Bae is also known for healthier recipies.
Hearing Brooke talk about Prince Harry craving hot chocolate with extra sugar was hilarious.
The crowd loved Brooke’s anecdote about Adam Sandler’s dog who’s a picky eater. Brooke has helped Adam Sandler’s family celebrate Hanukkah and he loves to eat latkes and jelly donuts year-round! Sadie Sandler stars in the new Netflix movie Roommates from Toronto-based filmmaker Chandler Levack, which is on my list.

Eden and Brooke gushed about Tel Aviv restaurants adding new locations nearby, such as New York hotspot Or’esh. Plus, Brooke teased an upcoming cookbook featuring her Hollywood clients’ favourite meals, shaped by their feedback.
Her monochromatic look featured a fitted brown suit with bronze heels and a dainty gold Magen David necklace. I loved Brooke’s dark grey nails, which used to be my go-to colour. She said she relies on OLIVE & JUNE nail polish because it’s durable for long days in the kitchen.
After Chef Bae shared amazing celebrity stories in Toronto, my favourite part of the evening was fangirling over Kate Steinberg when we chatted one-on-one. Another Jewish creator you must follow!
