When I received a cryptic event invitation to attend a special launch party for an undisclosed brand, I was intrigued. It seemed like a unique opportunity and I trusted the PR firm, so I signed up!
It turned out that Sears Canada wanted to show fashion bloggers their new pop-up shop on Queen West. They are reinventing their company with an interesting retail strategy targeted at millennials. (Pardon the buzzword.) The pop-up shop, located at 322 ½ Queen St. W., marks a new chapter for Sears Canada. Inside, you can shop their private label brand, as well as some of your favourite designers’ collections at a discount.
Executive Chairman, Brandon G. Stranzl, who hosted the event, is very excited about how this will affect the company’s future. The day after the event, analysts’ sentiment about Sears Canada already seemed more positive, so this is a step in the right direction.
You know I love shopping in the Queen West area (I can’t walk by American Eagle without seeing what’s new), so I’ll return to Sears Canada’s pop-up shop soon! Hopefully other brands will bring more pop-up shops to downtown Toronto this summer.
