Position: Communications Manager

Education: Visual Arts and Sociology, Western University; Public Relations, Humber College

Professional role model: Richard Branson. He’s a tremendous leader, showman and will one day take us up to space.

In 140 characters or less, what is your favourite part of your job?

Working with an extremely talented group of people, publicizing everything Best Buy, including our vendors, community work and services.

What are your daily responsibilities as a Communications Manager?

I’m constantly discovering creative ways with my teams to promote and story-tell the fantastic things Best Buy is achieving in Canada. I also protect our brand and build campaigns to engage media and customers while identifying and building a community of advocates.

What are the perks of working at Best Buy?

There are too many to list! First off, the biggest perk is working with incredible people. I genuinely enjoy working regularly with a talented group of people. This includes the gifted team at our head offices in Burnaby, our stores, agency and vendor partners and our senior leadership teams. Secondly, as a guy who naturally loves tech and uses it to simplify and enhance my life, the staff discount comes in handy. Additionally, when I’m at the head office, I always appreciate having access to the subsidized, modern gym, as well as the B.C. trails, which are liberating when heading out on an after-work run. Lastly, the food services in our common areas at the head office and regional offices are a nice perk too.

Tegan And Sara To Join Katy Perry’s 2014 Tour

Katy Perry Concert

“The Prismatic World Tour is coming to light up some of my favorite North American cities this summer, as well as some new cities that you introduced me to through your video requests,” said Katy. “This colorful show will bring you all the songs you know as well as ones from my new album, PRISM.” Colourful would be an understatement though. Last time I saw Katy Perry, there were inflatable beach balls tossed around and “colourful” barely begins to describe her wardrobe.

Katy Perry’s coming back to Toronto this summer, so you can bet there will be thousands of fans roaring with excitement at the Air Canada Centre in July. Opening acts will include Capital Cities, Kacey Musgraves and Tegan and Sara, although unfortunately my favourite twins (aside from Mary-Kate & Ashley) will not be joining Katy in Toronto. Instead, local Katycats can watch Capital Cities perform hits like Safe and Sound.

Millennials, rejoice: brothers Nick and Drew Lachey, as well as Justin Jeffre and Jeff Timmons from 98 Degrees are making a comeback!

During their spring/summer tour, the boy band will be joined by New Kids on the Block and Boys II Men. With 12 musicians scheduled to perform, they’ve named the tour The Package, and what a good choice! Looks like it’s time to create another 90s playlist and play it on repeat.

According to Ticketmaster, seats are selling fast for the following Canadian tour dates:

June 4 – Ottawa: Scotiabank Place

June 6 – Montreal: Bell Centre

June 7 – Toronto: Air Canada Centre

July 10 – Vancouver: Rogers Arena

July 28 – Toronto: Air Canada Centre

If you live in Toronto and can’t get tickets to see them at the ACC, perhaps you should make a road trip to Buffalo! They’re playing at the First Niagara Center on August 2, conveniently on a Friday night – perfect for a fun-filled weekend of live music and shopping.

98 Degrees’ first album in over a decade will be released on May 7 – get excited for 2.0!

In the meantime, let’s go back to 2000:
