There’s plenty to see right here in Toronto! The Bata Shoe Museum is one of my favourite local tourist attractions, so I went on a day off. There were only a few other people there at the same time. My mom and I often felt like we had a whole floor to ourselves, meaning it was safe and quiet.

Breaking my ankle forced me to change which shoes I wear at home. I tried cute, furry slippers as a kid, but always abandoned them. In the last 10 years or so, I’ve worn Old Navy flip flops around the apartment nonstop. I’ve alternated different pairs and love my royal blue ones.
Yes, I’m aware that flip flops are bad for you. I’ve seen them ridiculed in many articles, but I ignored the comments and slipped them on at home daily. The only time I regretted wearing them was when I visited Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas.

If you like taking pictures of your shoes, so what? No big deal. Personally I love taking shoefies and I’m not the only one because celebrities are on board with this popular Instagram trend too.
Likewise, shoe brands are capitalizing on the trend to connect with consumers and discover more user-generated content. Adidas recently worked with Wunderman to build relationships with youth in India whereby they encouraged shoppers to explore their communities in sneakers and document their travels. The campaign was a success and over 5,000 shofies were taken using the designated hashtags.
It’s Throwback Thursday and that calls for a spotlight on a campaign from a classic brand: Converse. I’ve never doodled on my Converse, but I love to wear them. I suspect they’ll be a wardrobe staple indefinitely.
Every owner of Converse sneakers has the option to personalize their footwear to reflect their personality and interests. Converse is celebrating consumers’ flare for customizing sneakers with their latest Made By You campaign.
