Katy Perry Unstoppable In Toronto On The Lifetimes Tour

Katy Perry knows how to create a spectacle that lets fans escape, so the sci-fi video game theme fits The Lifetimes Tour. As an animated cat said during a costume change, everyone “needs a break from doom scrolling and the world is counting on you”. With heartwarming moments like inviting kids onstage and promoting female empowerment, this tour offers the break you need.

Seeing Katy perform Woman’s World live for the first time was a highlight! I also love when concerts surface deep cuts I ignored before. I realized I really like her songs Teary Eyes (Smile) and All The Love (143) even though I wouldn’t have recognized the titles earlier!

Katy proudly said she’s “40 and fabulous” and joked she’s old enough to be Dua Lipa’s aunt. While performing Part Of Me, she turned the stage into a jogging track. She incorporated the same athleticism as her music video to remind fans to stay strong no matter what. “Canada, you have the power. You just gotta wake up. Remember that you got the power!” Well played, Katy Perry.

Many young girls filled the stadium rocking special lanyards to mark their first concert ever. Katy acknowledged all the moms in the crowd and gave a shout out to her mom who raised her siblings without iPads in the 90s. Then she dedicated the song Daisies to her own daughter, Daisy.

Rebecca Black wasn’t a top pick to open for Katy Perry, but I thought it’d be cool to see her sing Friday live. Well, it was so bad and brief that I didn’t record it. It was unrecognizable as a viral catchy song. Too bad Cheat Codes didn’t come to the Toronto concerts.

Katy Perry has always been an amazing performer and her team planned a fun night out for KatyCats. Revealing the setlist from space wasn’t necessary and overshadowed the quality of The Lifetimes Tour months before her breakup news.

Some of the video interludes were more profound than others, but I liked how they mentioned a “reset”. Considering her last three albums flopped, a reset could be what she needs. With the right music and messaging, Katy Perry has a neon pink bright future and Daisy’s lucky to be along for the ride.
