Working with Mario Dedivanovic on a KKW Beauty collab for the Kim Kardashian: Hollywood game was a huge highlight. I finally had a chance to meet him at Sephora Yorkdale and celebrate the success of Makeup By Mario!
I loved collaborating on brand partnerships and developing a content strategy for cross-promotion. In 2018, we added branded eyeshadows to recreate the KKW x Mario palette. We also introduced a glam room in your dream home so you could emulate Kim’s lifestyle. Plus, we updated Mario’s look to show his mustache.
Mario Dedivanovic is the 2nd VIP character in the game I’ve had a chance to meet in real life after seeing Jonathan Cheban in Las Vegas 10+ years ago. This was another full circle moment!
As an avid fan of the Kardashians’ TV shows, I’ve watched Mario prep Kim for photo shoots and major events like the Met Gala. Sometimes she scrolls through her phone while getting ready, but they often chat about whatever’s happening in her life. That leads to fun conversations, which often take place in five (or six!) star hotel rooms around the world.
I admire how Mario launched his career on Kim’s team and followed his dream of starting his own business. His beauty expertise is undeniable, so his Makeup By Mario brand is a natural next step for the celebrity makeup artist.
Mario came to Toronto to celebrate the launch of his new Makeup By Mario setting powder and setting spray. It was tough losing my job after the game shut down, but I’m glad I could wait in line on a Wednesday afternoon!
I can’t believe the event started early. I’ve been to tons of events and that literally never happens. I also met Winnie Harlow at Sephora last year and both events went smoothly.
Mario was really nice and when I mentioned the game, he said he loves looking back at photos from the app with hairstylist Jen Atkin! Hopefully I’ll get to meet her soon. What an iconic duo!
