How To Organize Your Huge Ticket Collection

I wouldn’t be a professional fangirl without accumulating a lot of tickets. That’s why I ordered a special album on Amazon to organize my ticket collection and it was worth every penny.

First, I collected all the tickets I could find in my souvenir boxes, which totaled about 75. Then, I sorted them by category: 1) theatre, stand-up comedy and interviews 2) sports 3) movies and 4) concerts. There were also a few from museums like the MOMA and Newseum that I tossed into the 1st category. Next, I sorted each category chronologically. It’s up to you how to organize your collection, but I like this system.

Most tickets are saved individually (one ticket per slot) with a few exceptions. I have many old movie stubs, so I divided them by year to save space. My favourite finds were the stubs from seeing Juno and Sex And The City in theatres! I also have a couple ticket stubs from student events at Western University, so I put those together too.

Once they were all stored in the album, it became clear that I’m missing some. For example, I must’ve gone to a concert in 2011, even though I didn’t find anything! I believe I also have very old Blue Jays tickets stashed away in another box. I hope I still have one from the 90s!

So far, organizing my ticket collection took about 2 hours. This time does not include making notes, such as who I attended shows with, which I want to do. However, I think that requires note cards. I may need to reshuffle the album and if I write in the margins, it would get too complicated. I’m also thinking about printing one photo per show (whenever possible) to save with the tickets.

Naturally, going through souvenir boxes makes you sentimental and nostalgic. The boxes are filled with good memories, so it was fun! My favourite blog post involved reflecting on how I became a professional fangirl. The album is almost full, so I ordered refill sheets to make room for upcoming shows! I don’t know who I’ll see next, but I know there will be many epic shows in my future.

No matter what kind of fan you are, I highly recommend buying a ticket album to protect your tickets and keep them organized. This is the exact one I’m using: bit.ly/2SKVMl3
