My Instagram feed has been filled with runway shots taken around the world, so I was thrilled to have the opportunity to watch a live fashion show in Toronto. The White Cashmere Collection is based on an extraordinary concept: raise money for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation while showcasing how Canadian designers can create couture using bathroom tissue. The team at Kruger Products and their partners executed it seamlessly and it was such a fun way to spend a weekday morning.
It’s no secret how much I like meeting on-air personalities, so it’s not surprising that the highlight of the event was talking to Beverly Thomson. I’ve been a fan since she worked at Global as a news anchor. She MC’d the show by talking about the charitable aspect, as well as by introducing Nancy Kruger, Corporate Vice President, Consumer Marketing at Kruger Products and Farley Chatto, Artistic Director of the White Cashmere Collection 2016.
After the show, the models were very approachable and available for photos. I’m also a sucker for a good Snapchat filter, which was created for the event at the Art Gallery of Ontario. The fashion show was a gentle reminder that one of these days I should return to explore the exhibits. Toronto has so much to offer. Next stop: Roy Thomson Hall to see the Toronto Symphony Orchestra!
