Boston Pizza Celebrates 50 Years

Boston Pizza Birthday - PizzaWith my birthday coming up, I’ve been thinking a lot about growing up. How have I changed in the last year? Where do I see myself in five years?

There is one thing that I’m certain won’t change no matter how old I am: I will always love pizza. Even if I become lactose intolerant, I’ll figure out a way to eat pizza.

Pizza Pizza is typically my go-to pizza chain, whereas Boston Pizza is generally a backup option when I’m out with friends. However, I’ve had the biggest urge to go to Boston Pizza today because they’re celebrating fifty successful years in Canada!

Boston Pizza Gravenhurst Jim and Mark

Jim Treliving celebrated Boston Pizza’s 50th birthday in Gravenhurst, Ontario.

“Over the years some things have changed, but our gourmet pizza has been a mainstay since we opened our first location in Edmonton in 1964,” said Mark Pacinda, President and CEO. “Thousands of Canadians have celebrated their own birthdays and milestones at Boston Pizza and now it’s our turn to invite them to our biggest celebration yet.”

To celebrate their 50th birthday, Boston Pizza is selling personal pizzas for $5 on August 12. If you’re lucky, you might spot their mascot Lionel! Please send me a selfie if you meet him.

There’s also a Pizza Party contest, so fill out the form and enter to win a pizza party for you and your friends! The contest closes on August 17.

Tell all your Leo and Virgo friends that you want to spontaneously celebrate their birthday tonight. At $5/pizza, it’s easy to treat your friends. Tag your food pics with #BPTurns50 and enjoy!
